We have a world full of broken and hurting people who need love. I am one. So are you.
To some degree we have all been hurt and wounded. Maybe it was by flawed parents, or by uncaring institutions, or by cutting relationships, or by an isolating and alienating society? The reality is that we have all been hurt.
Jesus always demonstrated a love for hurting people: “and He was moved with compassion for them.” (Matthew 14:14)
The Greek word used here for that loving compassion means literally “to have the bowels moved with great feeling.” In other words, the deepest part of Jesus’ emotional capacity was, and still is, turned in sincere feeling for the hurting of our world—and that includes you and me!
So today, let’s all ask the Lord to make us a reflection of Jesus’ life to make us sensitive to the hurts of those around us.
Are you willing to care like that? Is it your prayer to be made that way?
Go ahead and use the “weapon of compassion” to make a difference in someone’s life!
